The cost overview

Atlas Copco offers a full range of compressors known as the DrillAir range. This range of compressors is specifically developed to cover a multitude of drilling applications. The DrillAir range is built scientifically around the principals of pressure and flow. The focus of the design is the relationship between these two variables and for the compressor to find the combination which is right for the application – to improve the efficiency aspects of time spent and fuel consumed. With the DrillAir range, you achieve the maximum air flow at any pressure setting. There is no such thing as one size fits all when it comes to efficient drilling. Depending on the depth of hole and the size of the hammer the right product makes all the difference. The DrillAir range gives you the opportunity to choose a product which is right for your core business, while giving you the flexibility to adapt to changes in well depth and hammer size, for any custom applications. Drillair is designed to contribute in higher profitability of drilling operations. High pressure, Dynamic Flow boost, Stage 4 compliancy, extended pressure range enhance productivity while other options help to decrease operational cost.

Atlas Copco XPR extends the working pressure range. It is based on patented technology and lets you set working pressure as low as 15 bar. The DrillAir Y35 is an efficient solution for geothermal foundation drilling and other applications.

Dynamic Flow Boost ®
Dynamic Flow Boost ® increases flow from 34.8 to 39m³/min (650l/s) when flushing and during drill stem refill. It means faster flushing, faster stem refill and a shorter time to finish a well.

Drilling with 35 bar pressure allows you to drill more meters in an hour. Even though consumption per hour is higher, the cost per meter is lower. In field tests fuel consumption averaged 2 liters per meter drilled. (dependent on various operational parameters. Please ask your Atlas Copco representative for more details)

3 Layer protection
3 Layer protection
Three layer protection coating of all bodywork helps to minimize repainting costs. The top layer, a 100µm powder coat, creates a barrier against mechanical damage. The 100µm layer of primer protects from corrosion infiltrating under the coating. And in the event of coating damage, the steel is protected by a Zincor layer.

Scania is well known for its excellent performance and durability with unique design features such as a built-in oil cleaner, saver ring and separate cylinder heads, all contributing to an extended service life and high uptime. The DrillAir Y35 complies with Stage IV emission standards, so it will have a higher value than similar Stage IIIA or IIIB equipment in the years to come. Moveover, the DrillAir Y35 does not require a particulate filter, which means its remaining lifespan will not be a consideration when you resell the compressor.
