The company had 98 bolts which needed to be tightened and were currently using a manual wrench. Using the manual wrench meant they were operating at a low efficiency level, as well as this some of the bolts were difficult to access.
A total of eight operators were required for the application, with it taking eight hours on one Yaw Bearing assembly.

We implemented the use of our Hydraulic RT Square drive wrench along with the pump which is most suitable for the tool. This change would promote semi automation and achieve even tightening.

With the total of 12 tools to upgrade this system and process, the company were able to reduce work time on this application, reducing 3 hours per tightening.
