From curious inquirer to satisfied customer (Pipeline Project)
25 Januari 2021
Although 2020 has been a challenging year with lockdowns and visit restrictions, we have some great resources here at Atlas Copco that allow us to stay connected and involved with our customers to provide them with solutions. In May, our Midstream Key segment Manager Mark Bilton shared his vast expertise on the tremendous savings and agility of thermal vaporizing for pipeline drying via a series of webinars.
One attendee in those webinars was an employee of a specialized pipeline projects company; they called us a couple of months later with a problem, a pipeline to dry, and a very tight timeframe. They needed to accelerate their process as much as possible to avoid risking costs.
The project consisted of 10+ runs, with the most extensive sections being 2+ miles of 42” pipe to kick off in early September. After consulting with Mr. Bilton, it was determined that the most extensive runs would need (4) PTS1600, (4) dryers, (4) heat exchangers, and assorted hose, fuel tanks, and trailers. Our Customer Service Manager, Brian Feeney, met the challenge of gathering the products during the busiest time of the year, delivering on-time and accurately.
Our customer dried the first run of 2+ miles in under 11 hours, which exceeded the customers’ expectations, providing them with the agility they needed to succeed and considerable savings in rental costs, fuel, and peripherals.
The project ran through the end of 2020 and continues to prove the value of this technology.
We work together to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations, making agility count.
