Compressor overhaul completed at on 45kw machine in Atlas Copco Ireland’s workshop

The element and motor were removed from the compressor on site and transported to our Dublin workshop for overhaul and refurbishment to the highest standards. The motor is first decoupled from the element. To ensure a fast turnaround on the works committed to, an official Atlas Copco service exchange element was utilised. The existing oil injected element is replaced with another element on which the overhaul work was already completed and successfully tested. This works is done by our specialised facility in the Netherlands. The removed element is then sent back there for a next overhaul, provided its condition is within tolerances. The electrical motor is cleaned and overhauled with fresh bearings and its proper operation tested. The motor and exchange element are then coupled back together in our workshop.

For an Oil-injected compressor of this size, we recommend for the overhaul to take place every 32,000 hours to ensure maximum performance and safeguard our customer’s production. The customer is given further peace of mind by knowing Atlas Copco supports a one-year warranty on all overhauls carried out. Overhauls like this can be billed as a once-off charge or can be incorporated into a Service Plan providing our customers with full control and predictability of their maintenance budgets.
