Direct Driven Tools

Hydraulic brake

To effectively test Direct Driven tools, it's important to simulate both rotation and joints. Without joint simulation, only the motor's starting torque will be assessed, which can lead to unreliable results.​

The Hydraulic Brake is the answer. It accurately replicates the joint characteristics through trace simulation, while improving testing efficiency eliminating the need of loosening bolts. ​
It is suitable for testing Direct Driven tools and various wrenches, complying with ISO 5393 – VDI/VDE 2645-2 standards.​

Hydraulic brakes 2-500Nm​

The torque precision of the Hydraulic Brake is:​

  • ±0.5% from 10% to 100% of the nominal torque capacity.​

  • ±1% from 5% to 10% of the nominal torque capacity.​

Pulse Tools

SRTT-B

Testing pulse tools, whether pneumatic or battery-powered, comes with specific challenges: they deliver torque with high-energy bursts (about 1 ms). And various factors such as socket mass, extensions, friction, and joint stiffness influence torque output.​

The best approach to perform capability tests is to use a static transducer with a joint simulator on STbench.​

SRTT-B 0.5-2000Nm​

The torque accuracy of SRTT-B is:​

  • ±0.5% from 10% to 100% of nominal torque capacity.​

  • ±1% from 5% to 10%% of nominal torque capacity​

Clutch Tools​

Hydraulic brake

Testing a clutch tool is essential to ensure it delivers the correct torque and functions reliably. Clutch tools tend to have higher RPMs compared to Direct Driven tools, that’s why a fast and reactive system is preferrable. STbench Hydraulic brake answers these needs.​

Hydraulic brakes 2-500Nm​

The torque accuracy of the Hydraulic brake is:​

  • ±0.5% from 10% to 100% of nominal torque capacity.​

  • ±1% from 5% to 10%% of nominal torque capacity​

Wrenches​

Motorized Cell 400Nm and 1600Nm

Testing procedures for Click, peak and Cam-over wrenches require a reliable method to accurately​

detect Click point. Without proper detection, tests based solely on peak torque reflect the operator’s​

skill rather than the tool's performance.​

Atlas Copco’s equipment can automatically identify Click, peak and Cam-over points in its transducer​

portfolio.​

The updated ISO 6789:2017 standard imposes stricter requirements that are not achievable without the usage of motorized cell.​

Motorized Cell 1 – 1600Nm​

The torque accuracy of the Motorized Cell is:​

  • ±0.5% from 5% to 100% of nominal torque capacity.​

  • ±1% from 1% to 5% of nominal torque capacity.​

Hydraulic Wrenches​

Hydraulic Wrench Tester

Testing hydraulic torque wrenches is crucial for safety and reliability in critical areas like wind power and petrochemical plants. Torque output is adjusted via oil pressure according to the manufacturer's pressure/torque chart. Since hydraulic tightening is slow and nearly static, testing methods differ from those used for electric or pneumatic tools, making dynamic testing methods unsuitable. Custom solutions are available for higher torque capacities.​

SRTT HWT 2500- 75.000Nm​

The torque accuracy of the HWT dedicated SRTTs is:​

  • ±0.5% from 10% to 100% of nominal torque capacity.​

  • ±1% from 5% to 10%% of nominal torque capacity​
