All About Low Reaction Tools (LRT)

Atlas Copco’s low reaction tool (LRT) product range varies in torque ranges and tool types but is held together by unbeatable ergonomics. In addition to superior ergonomics, the LRT line up allows for comprehensive error-proofing, accessibility to difficult-to-reach places on the assembly line, and complete traceability in one single tool.

Atlas Copco’s comprehensive range of low reaction tools (LRT) consists of four different options that allow your operators to do their work while staying safe and comfortable on the line. Instead of the operator absorbing the impact of torque reaction force, our LRTs take the brunt of it, virtually eliminating the risk of injury to the operator.

A complete offer

The Atlas Copco LRT product range varies in torque ranges and tool types but is held together by unbeatable ergonomics. In addition to superior ergonomics, the LRT line up allows for comprehensive error-proofing, accessibility to difficult-to-reach places on the assembly line, and complete traceability in one single tool.

Available in both electric and cabled options, some of our LRT solutions even integrate with the Power Focus 6000 controller. Depending on the LRT tools being used, operators have the full selection of tightening strategies (TurboTight, Tensor Pulse, etc.) to choose from, along with the advantage of using Virtual Stations.

The line up

The TBP Battery Pulse Tool

Power focus offering TBP card

This battery pulse tool has completely redefined what a low reaction pulse tool can achieve on the line. The TBP is the ideal solution for applications that require high torque and flexibility on the line. Built using DuraPulse technology, the TBP allows for longer service intervals than traditional pulse tools. Low vibrations, high-speed rundowns, and an increased uptime combine to make this the perfect tool to boost productivity and workplace ergonomics.

The TBP-S Battery Pulse Tool

Power focus offering TBP-S card

The TBP-S utilizes the same hardware as the TBP, but it adds something new: a slimmer software version better suited for quality-critical tightenings. Like the TBP, the TBP-S relies on DuraPulse to increase service intervals, allowing for less downtime in production and less money spent on maintenance. It’s a slender, cordless, and powerful solution, ideal for the middle segment.

The Tensor SRB Cordless Nutrunner

Power focus offering SRB card

This cordless nutrunner is powered by Atlas Copco’s newest generation of batteries, meaning that you can choose between 18v or 36v batteries without having to compromise on tool speed or torque ability. Ideal for low torque applications, the Tensor SRB will change the way you plan your assembly stations. With its low weight and cordless freedom, the SRB is a well-balanced tool that sits comfortably in the operator’s hand and opens the door for access to parts of the assembly line that were once unreachable.

The ErgoPulse PTI

Pulse tool innovation nutrunner EP8

The newest addition to the LRT line-up is our ErgoPulse PTI, a pneumatic, low weight pulse tool that features a durable and robust design. Ideal for rough production environments, the PTI substantially increases tool uptime and allows for up to five times longer service intervals. With a new shut-off mechanism, accuracy is greatly improved. A multitrim valve reduces the variance in torque applied to different types of joints, decreasing the need for re-work while increasing the quality of your throughput.
