Atlas Copco’s RTEX25 pneumatic breakers are contributing to India’s infrastructure dream in the prestigious Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project, which when completed will be the longest sea bridge in India.
Atlas Copco is proud to be associated with the concrete pile breaking application for this under construction engineering marvel which will be a 21.8 kilometres (13.5 mile) freeway bridge connecting the Indian city of Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, it’s satellite city.
A leading construction contracting company in India is spearheading this project completion and has been associated with the Atlas Copco brand since 10 years. The pile breaking application requires long hours of operating pneumatic breakers and the operators were experiencing high fatigue with breakers that were not only heavy but were also low on output. In a highly demanding work environment with tight deadlines, operators were not very productive due to frequent rest breaks required considering the weight and vibration levels of the traditional breakers being used.
According to the customer, with the RTEX25 work efficiency has now increased by 3 to 4 hours every day. Their operators are less tired and can operate for atleast 6 to 8 hours per day with this equipment which has ergonomic handles ensuring lesser vibrations, emits less noise and is light in weight.
