Description

How does a rotary lobe blower work?

A lobe blower is a positive displacement blower (also known as pd blower) which is typically known for its reliability. 
 

Thanks to their simple design, lobe blowers are a cost-competitive solution in terms of initial capital investment and maintenance costs. The process starts with air entering the unit via the silencer with an integrated inlet filter. The silencer with an integrated inlet filter prevents the air from flowing back to the environment, avoiding pulsation, and ensuring smooth operation. The straight-cut timing gears eliminate axial forces, ensuring trouble-free operation. 
 

Finally, the air then passes through the outlet silencer ensuring low noise emission. The automatic belt tensioning system ensures that the belts transfer power from the motor to the element and are kept tight on the pulleys at all times. Our lobe blower units can easily be connected to your existing piping network via the stainless steel compensator.

Reliability in harsh environments

Operation in high-ambient temperature environments or at high-altitude is not an issue for ZL rotary lobe blowers. The cooling system and integrated safety and start-up valve contribute to trouble-free operation during the lifetime of the blower.

When starting the unit without a frequency converter, the forces applied to gears, bearings, and other critical components can be substantial. Our start-up valve ensures a gentle start each and every time. It improves reliability and makes intermittent operation – with regular starts and stops – a non-issue for our ZL lobe blowers. 

Compact air blowers

Our new ZL rotary lobe blowers have been designed to maximize user-friendliness and minimize the footprint. Our newest generation of rotary lobe blowers occupies 30% less floor space, making them one of the smallest and most compact lobe blowers on the market.

We offer you the option of an outdoor canopy so that your lobe blower units can be installed outside and close to your technology.

Optimal cooling
The newly designed canopy with improved cooling makes our lobe units suited for use in ambient temperatures of +50 °C / 120 °F.  On top of that, the integrated controller provides you with a plug-and-play solution with only a minimum of floor space required, helping you save on installation costs.
Plug and play solution
The integrated variable speed drive controller with Elektronikon® Mk5 panel makes the installation easy, connecting just one cable. This shortens the installation and start-up and saves on installation costs.
Efficient operation
The Variable Speed Drive with an integrated controller contributes to smooth and cost-effective operation by providing your application with just the right amount of air. Our units are configurable with IE 3 or NEMA premium energy efficiency class motors.
