The construction and maintenance of wind turbines are connected with high operating expenses. This is why speed and precision play a key role. High-performance gear units combined with direct-measuring sensors mean that both the corded Revo HA and the SRB HA cordless nutrunner are among the fastest and most accurate high-torque nutrunners in their class.

Secure processes allow sustainable, successful working. Very heavy components and confined spaces call for extremely adaptable tools that do not make mistakes. Safety for people and equipment is the top priority. This is why both WTB tensioners and Revo HA and SRB HA nutrunners have safety mechanisms that significantly reduce the risk of injury.

The generation cost of wind power mainly consists of manufacturing, installation and maintenance expenses. Each of these three areas benefits from smart process control and simple, ideally automatic, data acquisition. However, this means that the “Smart Factory” needs to enter the field. For this purpose, Atlas Copco already started some time ago to transform its conventional bolting tools into a smart networked portfolio which means that the control and reporting of missions is actually completed in the background.
In order to obtain an effectively networked, efficient system, it is important for all assembly systems (electric or hydraulic tools for continuous tightening as well as hydraulic tensioners) to be equipped with a common user interface. Atlas Copco offers an interface of this type for process control and monitoring and for data analysis and traceability. We call this approach Smart Connected Bolting.
