APTS and Atlas Copco Rental join forces on Wheatstone LNG Project
Streda, 2016, apríla 20
Antwerp, Belgium, April 20, 2016: The Wheatstone LNG Project is being constructed in Ashburton North, 12 KM west of the town Onslow in Western Australia. The project will consist of two liquefied natural gas production trains, a domestic gas (DOMGAS) processing plant and condensate processing facilities with other supporting facilities, product storage, product loading facility (PLF), material offloading facility (MOF) and other infrastructure.
The feed gas will be coming from the gas fields located off the northwest coast of Western Australia's Carnarvon Basin. Condensate will also be produced. The gas supply will be processed on the processing platform and delivered to landfall at Ashburton North via a subsea pipeline. The Wheatstone Project will have an initial capacity to produce 8.9 million tonnes of LNG per annum.
Atlas Copco is a preferred supplier of APTS due to their ongoing reliability and long-term commitment to delivering high quality equipment. The synergy of our key values and ethical conduct is important to APTS, allowing our teams to work productively alongside each other to deliver key projects within Australian industry.
APTS was involved in the testing of all pipework associated with the product loading facility, a 1.4 km jetty and associated pipe rack. Within this scope was a number of large pneumatic tests, the largest with a total test volume of 1204.31 m3 (ambient) to be tested to a pressure of 34 bar. This required 40,947 m3 or 1,446,030 scfm to pressurize.
Atlas Copco Rental in Australia have worked with APTS on several previous projects, discussions began with engineering team to develop a package tailored to the Jetty project. The scope of the project required the supply of as much compressed air volume as possible at - 40 degrees PDP and at 34 bar. To achieve this we utilized the rental fleet available in Western Australia and delivered two separate 34 bar regulated spreads to meet at a common header.
High pressure oil injected diesel compressors, XRVS 1250, XRVS 1350, XRVS 1000, SD 180 desiccant dryers, 7T booster, B4 booster, filter packs, bullhoses and pressure regulators were supplied. The scope of the project required two fulltime operators from Karratha to commission, ensure uninterrupted operation of the two spreads during testing and decommission onsite. All of the equipment was provided with pressure valve, pressure vessel, fire suppression, hose certification and registration to comply with WA's stringent site regulations.
All Compressed air was required to meet ISO 8753.1 purity class 1. APTS' client had a tight test schedule to meet project milestones which required reliable, continuous 24 hour operation of equipment. Utilizing Atlas Copco Rental as a partner in this project gave APTS the peace of mind that they needed to meet their clients expectations.
