The Bolt Load Software allows input, overview and export of torque pressures and bolt tensions key information and documentation for topside and subsea applications.
Software applications
The software package is suitable for following flange jobs • ANSI B16.5 – standard pipe flanges and flanged fittings with pressure classes from 150 to 2500, commonly used in piping systems • MSS-SP44 – large-diameter steel pipe flanges for high-pressure applications, typically in pipeline and offshore industries • API 6A – flanges for wellhead and Christmas tree equipment, covering pressure ratings from 2000 to 20,000 psi, used in oil and gas operations • API 17D – Similar to API 6A, but designed specifically for subsea oil and gas production systems • SPO and SPO-S Compact Flanges – High-integrity, compact flanges designed for high-pressure applications, providing a lighter and smaller alternative to conventional bolted flanges It contains data for ranges of tensioners (e.g., Subsea Optimus 5 and 6, CTST, V-Series and Force10), but it also allows users to create a library of tools from other manufacturers.
Software functionalities
The first screen contains project information with all bolted joint applications. It can be adjusted and organized to fit screen size and applications can be re-ordered according to desired priority.
Defining new application by type of tooling Tension or Torque
• For Tension application: flange details (specifications, ratings and configurations), bolt material, tool selection, gasket gap, blind thread, bolt diameter, detensioning pressure and thread pitch. • For Torque application: clamp length of the joint, bolt thread selection, ‘K’ factor a or Co-efficient of friction (which-ever you are more familiar with) and types of torque wrench

• Bolt Stress: Bolt Load and % Bolt Yield over a 3 stage time period and warning if exceeded 95% bolt yield • Torque: value to achieve the residual bolt load based on the displayed coefficients of friction • Stress Graph: bolt stress path over a 3 point time period indicating yield strength and maximum detensioning stress • Bolt information: quantity, yield strength, tensile stress • Recommended tensioning sequence for optimal pump pressure (psi and bar) You can import and export project or individual application file.
