How it works

FleetLink Hardware

The Hardware

FleetLink hardware—CoreBox or SmartBox—is installed in your equipment and connected to its controller. It collects data like:

  • GPS location
  • Engine load and speed
  • Fuel consumption
  • Pressure and temperature readings
  • Error codes and alarms

The Subscription

FleetLink Connectivity is available through two subscription options—Core and Smart—each offering different levels of data access and functionality. This allows you to choose the setup that best matches your operational needs and equipment capabilities.

The Platform

All data is sent to the FleetLink Portal, where it’s transformed into easy-to-read dashboards. You can:

  • Monitor equipment status
  • Set up alerts and notifications
  • Access reports and analytics
  • Integrate data into your own systems via API

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I connect to FleetLink Connectivity?

If your equipment already includes a built-in SmartBox or CoreBox, getting connected is simple—just contact your local Service Center to activate your subscription.

For older equipment, you can order a Retrofit Kit that includes either a SmartBox or CoreBox. You can choose to install it yourself using the provided instructions, or have one of our technicians handle the installation for you.

What data can FleetLink Connectivity measure?

The data available through FleetLink Connectivity depends on two factors:

  1. The sensors and controller in your equipment
  2. The type of connectivity hardware (SmartBox or CoreBox)

If your equipment is equipped with a SmartBox and the necessary sensors, the following data can be measured:

  • GPS location
  • Engine load
  • Pressure readings: vessel, regulating, air discharge, network, and regulator pressure
  • Temperature readings: LP element outlet and ambient air
  • Engine pressure: fuel delivery and engine oil pressure
  • Engine temperature: coolant, fuel, and DEF tank
  • Fuel rate and total fuel consumption
  • Engine speeds (RPM and setpoints)
  • Working hours (total and loaded)
  • Battery voltage
  • Diesel particulate filter soot level
  • Additional data: machine alarms, alerts, counters, and improved data transmission rates

The specific data you’ll see on your dashboard will also depend on your subscription type.

How does the FleetLink API work?

When you subscribe to FleetLink Connectivity—either with a Core or Smart subscription—you can enable API access. This allows you to integrate FleetLink data directly into your own system or portal.

FleetLink supports two types of APIs:

  • AEMP 2.0 (ISO-compliant): An industry-standard telematics API used widely across the sector.
  • Extended API: Built on the same structure as AEMP 2.0 but enhanced to provide additional machine data and insights.

These APIs allow you to retrieve the latest status and performance data from your connected machines.

How much does a FleetLink subscription cost?

The cost of a FleetLink Connectivity subscription depends on several factors, including the type of subscription you choose (Core or Smart), whether your equipment already has the necessary hardware installed, and if a retrofit is required.

For a tailored quote based on your specific setup and needs, please contact your nearest Atlas Copco service center.

Will my subscription renew automatically?

Yes. Your FleetLink subscription will automatically renew for another 12-month period unless you deactivate the auto-renewal or notify Atlas Copco before the renewal date. The renewal date is the day after your current subscription ends.

Where does FleetLink Connectivity work?

FleetLink devices (CoreBox and SmartBox) operate via cellular networks and are designed for international use. They support:

  • 4G (LTE-M1)
  • 2G networks

Please ensure that cellular coverage is available in the area where your equipment is operating.

Can I connect older equipment to FleetLink?

Yes, you can! We offer a Retrofit Kit that includes a SmartBox, SIM card, cables, and antennas. This kit allows you to connect older machines to FleetLink Connectivity.

The Retrofit Kit includes a one-year subscription for data access via the FleetLink portal or API. After the first year, the subscription can be renewed separately.
