Atlas Copco is proud to announce the launch of the STRwrench Advanced. An innovative tool that will help any manufacturer to deliver top quality products by implementing the most flexible and reliable residual torque checks. 

This electronic wrench has remarkable features designed to improve your quality processes. The increased precision range of the new SmartHEADS minimises the number of SmartHEADS required for the torque range to be checked in your production.

With the ability to rotate the SmartHEAD 90°, you get the best ergonomics and an accurate result with the trace displayed directly on the wrench.

STRwrench advanced

The STRwrench has a patented algorithm to calculate the residual torque. The wrench automatically detects and stores the breakaway torque, the residual torque and the peak torque remaining in the joint. In this way, the joint inspection process is completely operator independent, providing objective data and reliable strategies for quality control. Other common quality strategies are available as standard to ensure maximum flexibility to meet individual customer specifications.

 

STRwrench advanced

 

 

STRwrench now includes a 2D barcode scanner. This scanner is also useful for programme selection, so there is no need to worry about selecting the incorrect programme. Just scan the tag and start the inspection.

 

The durability of the large, eye-catching display has been tested in very tough conditions simulating a fast-paced production environment. Despite the robustness of the display, quality supervisors will appreciate the excellent touch response of the display when working with the wrench.

System integration

For ease of use, QA Inspector software is built in, which means the STRwrench Advanced is ready to be fully integrated into the Atlas Copco QA 4.0 platform ecosystem. Residual torque inspections, managed by QA Supervisor, can be sent directly to the wrench anywhere in the factory. The inspection results are immediately visible on the wrench display, including the trace for further analysis. Of course, all inspection data is automatically transferred to the QA Supervisor at the same time, where it is securely stored and visible to anyone with access to this web-based application.

 

 

STRwrench advanced

 

For unexpected residual torque inspection requirements from production or quality, a quick programming function is available, allowing users to quickly create a programme and perform the inspection. 

 

STRwrench is fully integrated into Atlas Copco's Smart Integrated Assembly ecosystem. It can be easily connected to any Power Focus tool, our ToolsNet 8 data traceability solution and the Atlas Copco Error Proofing solution portfolio.
