Glenn is retiring soon after working with the company for almost 40 years.
He has always been a service engineer, starting with Compressor Engineering, which was acquired by Atlas Copco in 2009. Glenn has spent his career working with compressed air, covering everything from compressor repairs to servicing and pipework installations.
I have always enjoyed my work, otherwise, I would have done something different. I really enjoy being able to help our customers on-site, for example, rising to the challenge of repairing their compressor if it has broken down
What has changed over the years?
“When I started, 95% of air compressors were piston machines. Then more and more screw compressors were introduced to the market and over time this technology has become much more advanced and much more common.”
What will you miss the most?
"Talking to my colleagues – everyone is willing to talk to you and help you out."
Do you have any advice for people starting with Atlas Copco?
“My advice is to learn all you can. Knowledge is power - if anybody teaches you something, you should pay attention and listen.”
