Atlas Copco Compressors has announced the appointment of Ian Ainsworth as Business Line Manager, Sales and Marketing, of its Compressor Technique Service division in the UK. Ian succeeds Paul Clark, who retired at the end of March 2023.
Commenting on his new position, Ian said
I am looking forward to building on the work Paul and the team have done over the years. We remain committed to delivering compressed air solutions that reduce cost, increase uptime and improve energy efficiencies for our customers. Our focus will be customer-centric with an emphasis on our advanced services offering and building on and growing our customer base.
A UK citizen, Ian has lived in South Africa for more than 40 years where he gained a wealth of experience to bring to his new role. He most recently worked at Atlas Copco in South Africa as Business Line Manager for Compressor Technique Service, a position he held for more than five and a half years. Prior to this, he held various sales and management roles of increasing seniority with engineering companies including Ingersoll Rand, Bilfinger and Alfa Laval. Ian is also a qualified marine engineer and holds a Bachelor’s degree in business and finance and a Master’s degree in business leadership.
In his new role, Ian and the nationwide Compressor Technique Service sales team will be focused on providing a wide range of services to help users identify potential energy savings and optimise the performance of their compressor room equipment and industrial gas systems.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys reading, running and cycling. Originally from the UK, he is located currently in St Leonard’s following his return from South Africa and will be based out of Atlas Copco’s premises in Hemel Hempstead.
