Assembling electric vehicles, batteries and motors comes with many new, and existing applications to solve. Working safely around high voltages that come with batteries requires new innovation like Insulated Sockets to prevent short circuits or grounding that could cause serious injury. When working with these new technologies some common joining techniques are immediately unsuitable due to heat or waste materials that could damage the battery cells and create potentially catastrophic failure for the customer!

Assembly tools that are fast and accurate, dispensing systems that ensure consistent bubble free application, riveting systems that can securely join mixed materials without damage and flow drilling to create reversible secure joints where these is only one sided access have all become essential. How can you ensure that particular fixings are tightened in the correct order?

Industrial Location Guidance (ILG) can be used as standalone or integrated error proofing system that tracks the exact location of the tool relative to the desired fastening position, ensuring the correct fasteners are tightened to specification, in the proper sequence. Alternatively Industrial Location Tethering (ILT) uses wireless distance measurement technology, it tethers the tool to a specific workstation and disables the tool if it goes outside the set working range. The newest addition to our tool location platforms,Industrial Location Spotpoint (ILS), consisting of receiver and transmitters; that triangulates positions and generates location data values. Through Open Protocol, the tool’s position is validated and used to enable or disable the tool.
