To reach the required flexibility in every station, we need to automate the configuration of each station. We need to have tools that can be dynamic and we need to be able to assign the right task in the right place at the right time.
To do this you need Smart Tools that are location-aware, that know where they are. They can move freely being wireless and they can receive job orders from an overlying system in real time.
On the fly rebalancing
By enabling the products to decide where to go next dynamically and then making sure that when the product comes to a station, there's a corresponding tool with capabilities to do the operation that's needed. This can be done for most stations.
Optimize production with dynamic stations
But the important thing from a tool perspective is that the tools in the new station needs to be preconfigured with the correct programs, and getting these assembly tasks dynamically. So we can either move a tool that is suitable to the right location to do an operation, or we can take the product to the tool.
