Most importantly, however, it allows over-the-air updates to ensure the compressor gets better over time

Remote compressor control

The Elektronikon® Nano™ allows remote control, thanks to its combination with Atlas Copco’s SMARTLINK app. Using their smartphone or tablet’s Bluetooth® connection, users can turn their G on or off, set the pressure and even set a week timer. 

Anywhere, anytime monitoring

Owners of a Nanoᵀᴹ-controlled G can monitor their compressor anytime and anywhere, thanks to the SMARTLINK app. In one quick glance, they can check the unit’s most important performance indicators – pressure, temperature, running hours and operation mode – directly on their computer or mobile device.

Instead of overwhelming users with all that information, SMARTLINK translates it into clear insights that make it easy to determine how the compressor performance can be improved. 

Timely service, interventions and support

Atlas Copco elektronikon Nano controller

When a compressor needs attention, the Elektronikon® Nano™ sends real-time alerts directly to users via SMARTLINK. This helps ensure that minor issues do not turn into big problems.

The SMARTLINK app also features a service timeline. It shows the service status of the compressor, a calendar of planned maintenance, as well as easy-to-understand service reports.

Finally, SMARTLINK houses a ton of information and support on all Atlas Copco compressors, including instruction manuals, installation guides, videos, and much more. And, if additional assistance is required, then it can even connect users to an Atlas Copco representative or dealer. 

Over-the-air updates and the future-proof compressor

One of the revolutionary features of the Elektronikon® Nano™ is that it allows over-the-air updates. That means that, whenever Atlas Copco develops a new feature for a compressor, tweaks an energy-efficiency algorithm or makes other improvements, users can download and install them. Therefore, the Nano™ ensures that the compressors it controls get better over time. No other controller in the world offers the same benefit. 

And it’s perfectly safe because Atlas Copco emphasized cybersecurity in the development of the Nano™. Both the controller and the compressor are thoroughly protected by advanced X.509 certificate-based authentication and TLS 1.2 encrypted communication.

Eliminating energy waste

Via SMARTLINK, the Elektronikon® Nano™ offers a unique leakage detection functionality that improves the efficiency of compressed air systems. This can make a big different because, on average, a production facility loses an estimated 20% of its compressed air to leaks in the air system. The leakage detection program helps its users find them to save a lot of energy and money.

Advanced control algorithms: Delayed Second Stop

Like all Elektronikon® controllers, the Nano™ comes with advanced control algorithms built in. This includes the energy-saving Delayed Second Stop. Like a car turning itself off at a traffic light to save energy, this feature stops the compressor motor when possible. This allows users to keep their energy consumption at a minimum while still maintaining the required system pressure.
