The dilemma
Our customer’s application took several operators to complete and needed improved throughput. Without resolving these issues, their profitability, quality, and productivity would continue to suffer.
They knew automation was going to be their next big move, but were uncertain where or how they could start. That was until the experts at Atlas Copco got involved. The solution
Our experts met with our customer to better understand the issues they were facing and showcase the solutions we have to offer. After looking at the application, we discovered that this station cost them over $240,000 a year between labor and downtime.
We knew we could flip that around with the right solution, saving them more than what they were currently losing. Our experts proposed the optimal solution, which consisted of a Screw Feeder, cobot, screw presenter, and PF6 Flex with QST and pitch adjust, allowing for a fully automated solution at the station.
By automating this station, they would finally reach their sustainability, productivity, and profitability goals while reallocating the operators to more complex sections of the production line. This would streamline their assembly, saving them thousands each year in downtime.
