Understand your compressed air system

With AIRScan, we inspect your entire air system, from the compressors via the air net to the demand side.
It reveals any weak spots in your installation, identifies the best solutions to fix these weaknesses, and provides accurate savings calculations for each of these solutions.

Repair compressed air leaks

Did you know that up to 20% of the energy consumption in your compressed air system could be lost to air leaks? That’s a lot of money you are blowing away.

Tighten your pressure band

Lowering the system pressure is a great way to save energy. Matching the air demand within a narrow pressure band makes all the difference.

In a multiple compressor installation, compressor control systems contribute to a more accurate pressure output and reduced energy consumption. Upgrading equipment to our latest technologies invariably results in efficiency improvements.

Recover thermal energy
Air compression generates heat, which is usually released into the atmosphere via the cooling system. However, this energy can be captured and used for workspace heating, hot water, or industrial processes. With Energy Recovery, temperatures can be raised up to 90°C/194°F. If you need higher temperatures, then a Heat Pump is the right choice for you. Your compressor releases energy. Don’t let it go to waste!

Monitor your compressed air installation

SMARTLINK enables you to follow up on the performance and service status of all the equipment in your air compressor room. Detailed reports help you keep track of your energy efficiency, also allowing Energy Management according to ISO 50001.

SMART AIRnet monitors various parameters, such as flow pressure and humidity at critical locations to safeguard the quality of your compressed air network. 

An Air Quality Plan captures all critical air quality parameters and processed via SMARTLINK.

We pinpoint the areas where potential savings can be made. We then advise the appropriate actions to optimize the situation. Improving the energy efficiency of your compressed air installation can save you a lot of money.

Based on the utilization of your compressors and the requirement of thermal energy in your operations, Atlas Copco can determine your possible savings with the Energy Saving Potential Calculator. It shows you how much waste heat you can recover and how much you can save on your total energy bill. Up to 90% of the heat generated by a compressor can be recovered or reused. Our skilled energy audit engineers carry out an air system energy audit with expertise in identifying areas of loss or inefficiencies within your compressed air system. A detailed report highlights the inefficiencies and provides proposals on how to optimize the performance and energy consumption of your installation. A typical AIRScan identifies tangible measures that results in 25-30% energy savings and a significant amount of CO2 reductions. You run the risk of missing out on a significant reduction of your energy consumption by not having your installation audited by our specialists.

Without a central compressor control system, the load/unload pressure of each compressor can be set to react to changes in air demand. If the system pressure drops, an additional compressor will switch to loaded running. However, the sequence will always be the same, and the advantages of a VSD are not fully put to use. The result: higher pressures than required, too much unloaded running and… a steep energy bill.
