Celebrating 100 years in the UK
Air leaks, overdue servicing, inefficient running are all problems that face compressed air users everywhere. And though you may feel your installation is in good condition, you'd be surprised to find out what a trained eye can spot. Watch this video to find out why you should have an #airCHECK.
Compressor Engineering is fully integrating into the Atlas Copco Compressors UK service organisation. Customers will continue to receive service and support from the same teams based in either Kettering or Leigh, but under the Atlas Copco brand name, instead of the Compressor Engineering brand. We will continue to offer expert service and spare parts, but now with the advantages of our wider support team. Read more.
We always thrive to reduce the carbon foot-print further and come up with innovative solutions that help you optimise the way you use your air compressor systems as well as save you energy.
Our innovative compressed air solutions include super-efficient variable speed driven air compressors, Class 0 oil-free compressors, energy saving air blowers, Smartlink compressor monitoring systems , aluminium and stainless steel compressed air pipework, nitrogen and oxygen generators, as well as compressor parts and service for all rotating equipment.
Simply put, we understand that energy consumption, which represents around 80% of the total lifecycle cost of compressed air systems, is one of your main pain points and we invest in innovative solutions to lower your energy bills.
Air compressors generate heat energy that can be harnessed for other purposes in the operating environment. For instance, waste heat from the compressor can be recycled as hot water which could be used within certain manufacturing processes, or it could be redirected into the heating or hot water system of the building.
You should specify your compressed air system by flow and pressure – not KW or horsepower. When correctly matched in terms of pressure and flow, compressed air equipment can offer:
Because there are a number of pressure/flow variants within each air compressor kW category. E.g. Atlas Copco has four models in the 11 kW range that represent a 30% differential in flow rate (from 28.7 l/s to 35.8 l/s at 7 bar.g) and over 32% difference in the unit’s purchase price!
Assess present and future needs by first checking out the existing compressed air systems from air output to point of use, with a thorough air audit.
Do not rely solely on the stated motor power rating to match the air compressor performance to the process air demand.
Start with the air pressure and flow requirement and then find the best fit in terms of drive motor power. Always keep in mind: pressure + flow = energy = cost.
What type of air quality do you need? Is an oil-injected compressor plus filtration sufficient for your application or do you need a genuine oil-free compressor?
