As the world embraces the importance of environmental sustainability, Atlas Copco place a greater emphasis on addressing the global water crisis, and minimizing impact to themselves and the planet. Through CSR we mainly plan & implement Watershed Development Projects & other related activities with the help of NGOs.

The Jalna district has experienced severe drought situations in last one decade. The people belong to an agrarian community whose livelihood depends on seasonal rains. We stabilized and enhanced the productive capacity of the local ecosystem, the agricultural, and livelihood base through the Water Resource Development activities

Jaldoot 2.0 – Regenerating water sources and joys

The success of Jaldoot 1.0 inspired the second chapter Jaldoot 2.0. Financed by the Atlas Copco Charitable Foundation, it successfully continuing to transform the lives of millions. With the help of Sevavardhini – a bigger NGO in the sustainable development sector that is associated with more than 200 local NGOs, rural communities were approached. The project forged partnerships with 21 local organizations in 19 districts of Maharashtra. Further, 25 villages were selected, and 43 barefoot water messengers (Termed as Jaldoot’s) were identified across these villages

Jaldoot - Watering hope in the parched lands

A joint endeavor between Atlas Copco Charitable Foundation/Water for All and Sevavardhini, NGO based in Pune. Jaldoot, the brainchild of Atlas Copco Charitable Foundation, saw the light of day with an intent to empower the local people with technical knowledge so that they can actively participate, plan and contribute to all development programs in their village. The Sanskrit term, which translates to “Messenger of Water,” evolved as a project that ensured water availability throughout the year across 15 districts and 25 villages of Maharashtra
