Service Technicians

Are you a hands-on individual? Consider becoming a Service Technician!

What Is a Service Technician?

If you're a mechanically-inclined individual who enjoys working with your hands, then our Service Technician position may be for you! From performing routine maintenance and diagnostic testing on air compressors to repairing malfunctioning compressors and determining possible causes for malfunctions, our service techs are an integral and respected part of the Atlas Copco business.

Would you like to see what our technicians actually think about the role? Take a look through the brochure, interview, and video below!

Service Technician Profile: Jeff McCrary

Jeff McCrary - Service Van - Small

Name: Jeff McCrary
Position: Service Technician in the Carolinas
Length of service: 9 years

Q: What’s so great about being a service technician?
A: No two days are ever the same. I love the diversity of the job and meeting people. My fully loaded truck is truly my office and I enjoy spending time on the road. Our equipment range is also very diverse and I enjoy keeping up with the latest technology, learning how to keep it running in perfect order.

Q: You must see some cool stuff?
A: The applications for compressed air equipment are just about endless. From theme parks to widget making, and everything in-between. I love getting a chance to see how things are made while I am checking on our equipment.

Q: How has the job changed in the last decade?
A: Like most mechanical applications, they have become less about wrenches and more about digital connectivity. That being said, there are still plenty of opportunities to get my hands dirty! The digital aspect also really helps to keep paperwork down – something I love.

Q: What advice would you give to somebody thinking about joining Atlas Copco?
A: It’s a choice you won’t regret, with endless possibilities. From the opportunity to work on different products, to opportunities all across the United States and overseas.

Jeff is an Atlas Copco Compressors Technician. Service Technician opportunities are available with all of our business units in the United States.
