3 minute(s) to read

Bring operational productivity to new heights and error proof the assembly process with Atlas Copco’s socket and bit selector: the Selector 6. The Selector 6 series is a key part of Atlas Copco’s Smart Connected Assembly products and aligns perfectly with industry 4.0 due to its operator guidance system. The selector is made with features to save your operators' time and adjust to their specific needs.

Learn how the Selector 6 can work for you! Quality assurance is made easy with features such as recognizing four or eight sockets and bits and operator guidance software, making mistakes in assembly harder to come by. This is because the Selector 6 recognizes the socket being used and guides operators through the process.

Quality assurance and improved productivity

Improve your productivity and achieve a reduction in defects with the Selector 6. This tool recognizes the socket or bit being used by the operator so that it can guide them through the tightening process. By providing visual feedback to the operator, the Selector 6 ensures that the process is consistent and done accurately every time through process security. Regardless of the operator, the Selector 6 will provide you with quality assurance, decreasing the time spent on additional quality checks and costs related to rework and scrapping.

The Selector 6 series also has daisy chain possibilities. If one bit selector isn’t enough for a workstation, you can connect up to 4 selectors together, instantly multiplying the number of sockets or bits that can be held and recognized by the selectors, which allows for up to 32 positions to be recognized. This is easily achieved by connecting a daisy chain cable to the Ethernet out port of one selector to the Ethernet in port of the following selector. In this way, the selectors can also be powered by one power source.

This is because the Selector 6 can be powered by battery, over Ethernet, or with a stationary power supply. This versatility gives operators full freedom to use the Selector 6 in a way that best fits their needs. Whether the workstation is mobile or stationary, operators can bring the bit selector closer to application, reducing time spent on unnecessary movement and increasing uptime.

To sum it up

The Selector 6’s versatility means that it is made with operators in mind. With features such as operator guidance and adaptable power sources, this socket and bit selector will improve operational productivity and reduce the occurrence of defects during assembly, saving time and reducing the costs related to rework and scrapping.
