Payback achieved in less than two weeks using cam-over style wrench

Stripped threads and over-tightening eliminated.
CHALLENGE
CHALLENGE
A customer was using a standard mechanical click wrench, which caused excessive scrap. This type of click wrench is heavily dependent on the operator’s use and can allow the operator to apply additional torque/angle.

This ultimately affected clamp load, causing stripped threads. Two to three castings per week were scrapped due to stripped threads, at a cost of approx. $75 per casting.
