Expert Live Q&A: Tensor ICB/ITB

4 minute(s) to read

Welcome to the ‘Tensor ITB/ICB’ webinar/Q&A hybrid session. Presenting the webinar and taking viewer questions in this session is Rodney Hill, Atlas Copco’s Product Launch Manager for the IxB family of tools. In this hybrid session, Rodney gives viewers an in-depth overview of the IxB family of tools, which include two new tooling options (the Tensor ITB and Tensor ICB) that have controllers integrated directly into the tools.

The Tensor IxB family of integrated controller tools run the very same core software that is used on the PF6000, offering users a reduced hardware footprint, flexible line rebalancing, and easy integration with other software solutions including ToolsNet 8ToolsTalk 2, and more. With a redesigned results interface, users can see step data and delineated traces all on one page. Additionally, the Tensor IxB family of tools enable intuitive programming using Multistep, which allows users to create programs tailored to their needs in up to 16 steps.

Following this we move into the features of the ITB right angle battery tool specifically. The ITB tools utilize the same angle heads as Atlas Copco’s Tensor STR tools. With an accuracy of +/- 5%, the ITB tools are highly reliable. Further, they’re fast. With the ITB tools, users can expect up to 60% faster rundown speeds than our current generation Tensor STB tools. In other words, ITB tools are battery tools with the performance of a corded tool. Users can have up to three optional accessories (such as an eHMI, a barcode scanner, etc.), and will choose between three different intelligent battery options: 14v, 18v, and 36v.

Rodney then moves into the features of the Tensor ICB, which is a smaller and more compact version of the ITB. The size of the Tensor ICB is the biggest difference between the two integrated controller tooling options. The ICB is 30% smaller and 30% lighter than Atlas Copco’s Tensor STB tools. Another major difference between the Tensor ITB and ICB is that the Tensor ICB has a swiveling trigger that can be rotated 360 degrees and locked into 36 different positions. The ICB also features an adjustable angle head that can be rotated 360 degrees and locked into 20 different positions.

Finally, Rodney begins the Q&A portion of this webinar/Q&A hybrid session. The first question asks whether these tools are currently available for ordering. Rodney explains that they are indeed available. He then receives a question about whether the IxB family of tools can work with Atlas Copco software, and Rodney responds by explaining that they do integrate seamlessly with Atlas Copco software solutions such as ToolsNet 8, ToolsTalk 2, and SQS. When Rodney receives a question about battery options, he explains that the IxB family of tools utilize Atlas Copco’s all-new line of intelligent batteries and chargers that come in 14v, 18v, and 36v options.

To learn all that was asked and how Rodney answered, be sure to watch this webinar/Q&A hybrid session in full on-demand!
