Tensor IxB family of integrated controller tools: Wireless connection modes

Atlas Copco’s Tensor IxB family of integrated controller tools consist of two battery tool options, the Tensor ICB and Tensor ITB, with tightening controllers integrated directly into the tool itself. Serving as our newest and most advanced wireless tools yet, the Tensor IxB integrated controller tool range combine the functionality of a tightening controller with the ease, power, and reliability of a wireless DC electric tool.

 

With the controller inside the tool, reliable communication to other systems, tools, and accessories within an operation is of the utmost importance. The Tensor IxB family of tools with integrated controllers provide users two methods for wireless communication. Wireless client mode: Connecting to your infrastructure network

The first and most common way that users with a Tensor IxB integrated controller tool connect to a network is through the wireless client mode. In this wireless mode, users are connecting the integrated controller within the Tensor IxB tool to their facility’s infrastructure network. This allows users to move freely throughout their facility and still have communication with other tools, accessories, and systems. 

 

The wireless client mode for the Atlas Copco Tensor IxB integrated controller tools allows users to integrate directly with their own production system so that various software platforms and station accessories can also reliably communicate, all without a physical controller on the plant floor.

Wireless access point mode: Using the tool as its own access point

The other wireless connection mode that users can select from is using the tool itself as a wireless access point. In this mode, the integrated controller within the Tensor IxB tool functions as an access point. This allows other production systems, platforms, and accessories to connect wirelessly and talk to the tool reliably for an efficient, interconnected production process.

The wireless access point on a Tensor IxB integrated controller tool provides the tool its own network that is easy for users to manage and control. One important thing to note: Only one wireless connection mode can be used for a Tensor IxB integrated controller tool simultaneously. 

 

Though both modes provide a handful of benefits, different operation applications may make one wireless connection mode more useful than the other!
